Blue Bird had a dated, table-based website and wanted a complete overhaul. While they had previously focused on the business as a walk-in bakery, they were transitioning to a focus on custom made cakes and wanted the website to reflect this. The focus should be on their ability to produce high-end celebration and wedding cakes as well as catering packages for corporate functions and large events.
Having previously had a ‘cottage garden’ style website, they wanted to shift to a more modern, clean design that was equally appealing to consumers and business. The website was to showcase their custom cakes, hi-light their “local pride” (they source all products from within SA and are locally owned) and have the predominant call to action be quick conversions from visitor browsing to qualified enquiries and online orders.
